ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Senior Scott Phegley has been named the Missouri Valley Conference co-Golfer of the Week announced by the league office Wednesday, after finishing third at the Murray State Invitational in Murray, Ky., earlier this week.

Phegley continued his stellar play this fall shooting 211 for the three-round event and finishing two shots behind co-medalists Scott Stallings and Phillip Watkins. Phegley opened tournament play with a 71 and followed that with a pair of 70s to finish at two-under par 211. He owns a team-best 70.8 stroke average this season.

The Braves began play Tuesday in a tie eighth place at 593 after shooting rounds of 298 and 295. Phegley's final round 70, helped Bradley turn in the second best round of the tournament during the final round of play as the Braves carded a 282. Bradley finished in a tie with Morehead State for fifth place at 875 and the 282 shot by the Braves was the lowest round carded by BU since shooting 282 in a dual match during the 1975-76 season.

Phegley shared the MVC Golfer of the Week honors with Michael Daum of Evansville, who earned medalist honors at the UE-USI Golf Challenge in Evansville, Ind. He is the ninth player in program history to earn the honor and it marks the 12th time a Bradley men's golfer was named MVC Golfer of the Week.

Phegley and the Braves return to action October 16 & 17 at the IPFW Invitational in Auburn, Ind.
