PEORIA, Ill.. -- Senior Erika Nelson tied a Robertson Field House record with seven three-pointers and was one of four Bradley players in double figures, but Stephanie Raymond scored 19 of her game-high 30 points in the second half to help power Northern Illinois to an 85-75 victory over the Bradley women's basketball Sunday afternoon at Robertson Memorial Field House.

Both teams started out hot, as the teams combined to make the first nine shots of the game. The Huskies connected on nine of their first 10 shots from the field and took a 21-16 lead with 13:20 to play in the first half. Bradley tightened up the defense, limiting Northern Illinois to 26.3 percent shooting (5-for-19) the remainder of the half and went into the locker room trailing by one point at 36-35.

The Huskies built their lead to as many as 10 points early in the second half, but Bradley whittled the NIU advantage down to one point on several occasions and trailed 65-64 after a basket by junior Kelly Krumwiede with 4:14 to play. Northern Illinois countered with a 10-2 run that pushed the Huskies lead to nine points at 75-66 with 2:14 remaining following a three-point basket by Stephanie Raymond.

Raymond, who scored 17 of her game-high 30 points in the final 10 minutes of action, extended the lead back to 10 points (81-71) with a pair of free throws with 52 seconds to play. Nelson countered with her seventh three-pointer of the night, but the Huskies made each of their last four free throw attempts in the final 27 seconds of play and made 23-of-25 free throw attempts (92 percent) on the afternoon to put the finishing touches on the victory.

Northern Illinois (6-2 overall) snapped Bradley's (4-6 overall) five-game winning streak with the 85-75 victory. Nelson tied a Robertson Field House record for three-pointers, hitting 7-of-11 shots from beyond the arc, and finished with a career-high 25 points to pace the Braves. Sophomore Kelly Krumwiede posted her fifth double-double in the last seven games, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Devyn Flanagan (14 points) and senior Amy Peters (12 points) were also in double figures for Bradley.

Raymond led all players with 30 points and eight assists to lead the Huskies, as all five Northern Illinois starters reached double figures in scoring. Jessie Wilcox scored 12 of her 14 points in the first half, while Whitney Lowe (13 points), Kristin Wiener (12 points) and Mary Basic (11 points) all reached double figures.

Bradley will close out the non-conference portion of the schedule Thursday against Illinois at 7:05 p.m. at Robertson Memorial Field House. Thursday's game against the Illini can be viewed in the Peoria area on WTVP Channel 47 and will also be broadcast on 1470 AM WMBD.
