JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Junior Scott Phegley matched his first round 72 during Tuesday's final round of play at the North-South Intercollegiate at the par-72 Jacksonville Beach Golf Club in Jacksonville, Fla., helping the Bradley men's golf team finish second among nine Division I teams competing in the event.
Phegley finished with a two-round total of 144 to finish in a tie for second place, three shots behind the medalist. Senior Craig Tautges shot a 76 in the final round of action to tie for 14th place 150, while junior Ryan Saurs matched his first round 75 on Tuesday to finish tied with Tautges in 14th place at 150.
Freshman Kyle Shay also shot 75 Tuesday to finish one shot behind Tautges and Saurs in a tie for 18th place at 151. Sophomore James Taylor completed the scoring for Bradley with a final round 84 to finish at 159.
Radford finished first among Division I teams with a two-round total of 590. The Braves finished four shots behind Radford with a score of 594, after firing at 298 in the final round. Jacksonville was one shot behind Bradley at 595, while Appalachian State finished at 596. Bethune-Cookman placed fifth among Division I competitors at 601, while IPFW (620), Butler (633), Lipscomb (634) and Hampton (653) rounded out the field, respectively.
Bradley returns to action Saturday at the El Diablo Intercollegiate in El Diablo, Fla.
