Men?s Golf Takes Eighth At Beu/Mussatto Invite

MACOMB, Ill. -- Junior Scott Phegley shot a 74 to card the low round of the day for the Bradley men's golf team, but the Braves slipped to eighth place in the final team standings at the Beu/Mussatto Invitational at the Harry Mussatto Golf Course in Macomb, Ill., Saturday.

Phegley matched his first round 74 during Saturday's play to move into a tie for 20th place 226. Senior Craig Tautges entered the day in a tie for third place but shot a final-round 83 to finish one shot behind Phegley in a tie for 22nd place at 227.

Senior Josh Brown shot an 87 during Sunday's action to slip into 45th place at 237. Sophomore Will Gebhardt was one of two Bradley players to shoot in the 70's firing a final round 77 to move into 51st place at 240. James Taylor rounded out the scoring for the Braves with a third-round score of 82 to finish 57th at 247.

Bradley finished third of six Division I teams competing in the tournament. Western Illinois-Gold won the team title with a two-under par 862. Western Illinois-Purple finished tied for third overall at 892, while the Braves shot 316 Saturday to finish eighth at 925. Wisconsin-Green Bay was one shot behind Bradley in ninth at 926, while IUPUI (11th - 940) and Chicago State (13th - 977) rounded out the Division I competitors.

The Braves return to action April 24-25 at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship in Hutchinson, Kan.
