Macomb, Ill. ? Juniors thrower Kim Martin (Bartonville, Ill./Limestone) and Maya Monitto-Webber (Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City) each grabbed top-four finishes as the Braves wrapped up action at the Lee Calhoun Memorial Invitational hosted by Western Illinois.
Monitto-Webber was the top Braves finisher on Saturday, finishing second in the women's 400 meter hurdles, less than a second behind winner Ashley Stewart of Memphis. Monitto-Webber's time of 1:06.80 was nearly two seconds better than her previous season-best time. The junior was the busiest Brave as well, running in four events.
Martin was solid in the throws, claiming a fourth place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.81 meters and grabbing another fourth place in the women's shot put with her throw of 12.15 meters, both personal best marks.
Other notable Braves include Stefanie Luce's (Burr Ridge, Ill./Burlington Central) fourth place in the 800 meters, Shannon Calvert's (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) sixth place effort in the 100 meter hurdles and Jennifer Jenkins' (Calumet City, Ill./Thornwood) fifth in the hammer and seventh in the shot put.
The Braves return to action next weekend when they travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa to the University of Northern Iowa for the UNI Twilight.
