ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Senior Meaghan LeBlanc (Calgary, Alberta/Western Canada) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the third consecutive week after finishing second at the Payne Stewart Memorial, announced by the league office Wednesday morning.
LeBlanc, who won medalist honors each of the last two weeks and also captured Valley Golf of the Week honors both weeks, finished second overall at the Payne Stewart Memorial at the Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Mo. She helped the Bradley women's golf team to a third place finish in the 15-team field.
The top Valley finisher in a field that included six other MVC teams, LeBlanc's three-round total of 226 was two shots behind individual champion Sara Wikstrom's 224. LeBlanc was one of four individuals in the 86-person field to shoot all three rounds in the 70's, carding rounds of 77, 76 and 73.
LeBlanc's honor marked the third consecutive week she captured Valley Golfer of the Week honors and the fourth time in her career. Freshman Bari-Lynn Erais earned the honor once this fall, giving Bradley a total of four Golfer of the Week honorees this season. LeBlanc is the first Bradley women's golfer to earn MVC Golfer of the Week honors three times in a season and is the first four-time Golfer of the Week selection in program history.
The Bradley Women's Golf Team returns to action April 17 & 18 at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship in Wichita, Kan.
