Several former Bradley baseball and soccer players starred on the professional level last week, led by Luke Kreamalmeyer and Brian Shouse.  Each Monday throughout the summer, the Bradley sports information staff will attempt to provide a recap of the previous week's accomplishments of Bradley's Braves in the Pros.

Luke Kreamalmeyer had a big week for Portland in the USL First Division, scoring twice in three games last week.  Kreamalmeyer scored the game's first goal in Thursday's 2-1 win at Minnesota.  Two days later, Kreamalmeyer pulled the Timbers into a 1-1 tie in an eventual 2-2 draw Saturday at Rochester.  After playing the full 90 minutes Saturday, Kreamalmeyer played the first 73 minutes in Sunday's scoreless draw at Montreal.

Kreamalmeyer's former Bradley teammate, Salim Bullen, played all 270 minutes as a midfielder in Portland's three games last week.  Bullen, who earned second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors at Bradley last fall, made his professional debut in Thursday's game at Minnesota.

Portland is now part of a three-way tie atop the USL First Division standings with 20 points, based on the team's 5-4-5 record.

Kreamlameyer was not the only former Brave to find the back of the net in the USL First Division last week.  Former Bradley All-American Gavin Glinton scored his fifth goal of the year Sunday, tallying the game's only goal in the 54th minute as the Charleston Battery pulled out a 1-0 home victory versus Vancouver.  Glinton begins this week tied for third in the USL First Division with five goals and he is tied for fifth in the league with 10 points.

In the USL Second Division, midfielder Jon Caldwell started his second consecutive game, helping Cincinnati play Charlotte to a 3-3 draw Saturday.

On the professional diamond, former Bradley pitcher Brian Shouse turned in an impressive week out of the Milwaukee Brewers bullpen.  Shouse made five scoreless relief appearances last week, helping the Brewers to a 5-1 week.

Shouse appeared in all three games of the Cincinnati series to start the week, then worked the eighth inning in Friday and Sunday's home games versus Cleveland.  In his five appearances last week, Shouse worked a total of 4.2 scoreless innings, surrendering only one hit and two walks, while striking out four.

After appearing in only six games for the Texas Rangers this season, Shouse now has appeared in 14 games for Milwaukee since his trade last month.  With the Brewers, Shouse sports a 2.53 earned run average and he has made seven consecutive scoreless relief appearances.

At the Double-A level, former Bradley pitcher Brock Till improved to 4-1 for the Chattanooga Lookouts (Cincinnati) by earning a relief victory in Sunday's 8-7 win against Tennessee.  Till tossed two scoreless innings to lower his ERA in Chattanooga to 1.98.  Till started the five-game series versus Tennessee by also firing two scoreless innings Wednesday, registering a hold in the 8-4 Chattanooga win.

Also in Double-A, Evan Fahrner (1-3) suffered a relief loss Saturday when Altoona rallied for a 2-0 victory against the Reading Phillies.  Saturday's game was Fahrner's only appearance of the week.  Although he owns just a 1-3 record, Fahrner sports a respectable 3.69 earned run average and has struck out 40 hitters in 31.2 innings this season.
