PEORIA, Ill. -- Former All-American Krista Van Hauen has been named Director of Women's Basketball Operations announced by seventh-year Bradley Head Coach Paula Buscher. A Waldorf College graduate, Van Hauen spent the last year as an assistant coach at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.
After earning her Associate of Arts degree from Waldorf College, where she was a First-Team NJCAA All-American as a sophomore, Van Hauen went on to play one season at Simpson College before returning to Waldorf when the school moved to NAIA affiliation to finish up her playing career and education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Wellness in 2004 from Waldorf College and is currently working toward a master's degree.
She helped the Warriors to a third place finish in the NJCAA Tournament as a sophomore, earning first-team All-Region honors and took home second-team Iowa Conference honors as a junior at Simpson College during the 2001-02 season.
"Krista brings a great deal of excitement and energy to our staff," Buscher said. "Her organizational skills and past experiences will help her become a very valuable asset to our program."
Following her return to Waldorf, Van Hauen garnered First-Team Midwest Classic All-Conference honors and also was named a Daktronics-NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete as a senior. She also was a member of the women's golf team at Waldorf as a senior, earning Academic All-American honors.
Van Hauen spent the 2005-06 season as an assistant coach at Cornell College and was a volunteer assistant coach during the 2004-05 school year at Grundy Center High School.
