PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University women's tennis head coach Scott Petersen has been named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Committee for women's tennis, according to an announcement by the ITA. Petersen joins a committee of five coaches, which features three members from the Big 10 Conference, one from the Mid-American Conference and one from the Big East Conference.

Petersen's new duties will include ranking and seeding the ITA Midwest Regional Tournament, along with other organizational projects to increase national recognition of regional players and teams.

Petersen, entering his third year as Bradley's head coach, led the Braves to their first main-draw State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament win since 1994 last year and his teams have captured MVC regular-season wins in back-to-back years for the first time since 1996 and 1997. The 2006 spring season saw players rewriting the records book as senior Ashley Morris capped her stellar career tied for the school's all-time combined wins record, while junior Teri Chan equaled her own school season record of 19 singles wins.
