PEORIA, Ill. (Aug. 17, 2006) -- Bradley freshman forward Chris Cutshaw (Carmel, Ind./Carmel H.S.) is one of the nation's “100 Freshmen to Keep an Eye On” during the 2006 college soccer season, according to a feature posted at CollegeSoccerNews.com as part of the website's preseason coverage.

Cutshaw is one of 10 players in Bradley's highly-touted recruiting class, which was ranked No. 35 nationally by CollegeSoccerNews.com.  A first-team National Soccer Coaches Association of America High School All-American during his senior year at Carmel High School last fall, Cutshaw is the only Missouri Valley Conference newcomer identified in the website's watch list.

In addition to his All-America honor, Cutshaw was the runner-up for the Indiana Player-of-the-Year award after setting single-season school records for scoring in 2005 with 81 points, 36 goals, 13 game-winning goals, four hat tricks and 12 consecutive games with a goal.

In addition to his stellar play at Carmel High School, Cutshaw also starred for the Carmel United Soccer Club Inferno, leading the team in goals and points in 2005, as well as assists and points in 2004.  Teaming with fellow Bradley freshman Justin Bigelow, Cutshaw helped Inferno to Indiana State Cup championships in 2001, 2002 and 2005, as well as a U.S. club soccer regional runner-up finish in 2004.

Although the Braves were blanked in Monday's 1-0 exhibition loss at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Cutshaw came off the bench to lead the team with four shots and two shots on goal against the Panthers.  Cutshaw and the Braves will conclude their preseason competition schedule Friday by taking on Big 10 Conference foe Ohio State in a 6:30 p.m. (CDT) contest at Columbus Crew Stadium.

Bradley will open the 2006 regular season next weekend by hosting the fourth annual Bradley Classic at Shea Stadium.  The Braves will play in the 7:30 p.m. game both days next week, Aug. 25 versus St. Francis (Pa.) and Aug. 26 against Atlantic 10 Conference co-champion Duquesne.
