ST. LOUIS -- Bradley freshman forward Chris Cutshaw (Carmel, Ind./Carmel H.S.) is the season's first Brine/Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week in men's soccer, according to an announcement from the league office this afternoon.

A NSCAA High School All-American last year, Cutshaw was voted the Most Valuable Player during the season-opening Bradley Classic by leading the host Braves (1-0-1) to the tournament title for the second consecutive year.  In his college debut Friday, Cutshaw scored Bradley's second goal in the eventual 3-0 victory versus St. Francis (Pa.).  In Saturday's 1-1 draw versus three-time Atlantic 10 Conference co-champion Duquesne, Cutshaw scored the tying goal in the 72nd minute, allowing the Braves to win the tourney title based on their +3 goal differential.

By scoring in both of the tournament games, Cutshaw became just the fourth player in Bradley's 19-year soccer history to record a goal in each of the season's first two games and the first since Joe Ducci in 2003.  Unlike the other three players to score in the first two games of Bradley's season, however, Cutshaw is the first to begin his career with goals in the first two games.

Cutshaw will try to become the first-ever Brave to score in the first three games of a season Tuesday when Bradley visits Cincinnati (1-0-0) in a 4 p.m. (CDT) game at Gettler Stadium.  After playing the season's first three games in five days, Bradley then will have four days off before hitting the road again for a rare Sunday night game at Illinois-Chicago (1-0-0).
