Des Moines, Iowa -Senior Teri Chan (Gunree, Ill./Warren) led the way for the Braves continuing her dominance of Flight A Singles. Chan defeated Iowa State's Kara Hickey in two straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Chan is only one of two braves remaining in the tournament. Chan set the Bradley record for singles victories on Saturday with her 61st.
Freshman Kelly Donohue (Louisville, Ky. /Sacred Heart Academy) lost to Iowa State's Kara Hickey, 6-0, 6-4, ending an impressive weekend for Donohue.
Senior Elise Montrose (Portland, Ore. /Sunset) continued play in the consolation round this afternoon, but lost to Northern Colorado's Karen Groll, 6-4, 6-4.
Freshman Emily Regenold (Cincinnati, Ohio /Princeton) also continued play in the consolation bracket this afternoon, making it to the semifinals. Regenold quickly defeated Sierra Krebsbach from Gustatavus Adolphus, 6-3, 6-3. She then dispatched Northern Colorado's Karen Groll, 6-3, 6-2, after Groll knocked Montrose out of the tournament.
In Flight B singles, freshman Jessica Buterbaugh (Paradise Valley, Ariz./Chaparral) fell in the third round of Flight B to Creighton's Tess Reddin, 6-3, 6-3,, ending her weekend.
Sophomore Erin Krubeck (Boulder, Colo. /Fairview) fell to Gustatavus Adolphus' Alex Burleigh in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 10-8.
In doubles action, the Chan/Braun duo lost a hard fought match to Northern Iowa's Sampada Kanade/Agnese Pukse combo, 9-8. Montrose/Donohue duo also fought hard but lost to Northern Iowa's Carolina Hannes/MariannaMuraca combo, 8-6. Both doubles pairing are back in action tomorrow afternoon as the second round for doubles continues.
