DES MOINES, Iowa ? This past weekend Bradley senior women's tennis player Teri Chan posted a 4-1 record at the Drake Fall Invitational, advancing to the championship match of the A Flight while breaking the program's career record for singles victories.

Chan earned her record-breaking 60th career victory Saturday by downing Gustavus Adolphus player Jaime Gaard 6-3, 6-4.  She added to her record with a 6-4, 6-1 win against Iowa State's Kara Hickey.  Joie Rolf held the previous record with 59 wins from 1984 through 1987.

“Teri has always been a very steady competitor for the Bradley University women's tennis team during her career,” head coach Scott Petersen said.  “She has this amazing ability to challenge her opponent on the court to both a physical and mental battle.  This is a very impressive accomplishment for Teri, and I look forward to seeing how high she can set the bar during the remainder of the season.”

Chan began the fall with 54 career singles victories, which was tied for second on the all-time list. So far this Fall she has a 7-1 record, pushing her career singles mark to 61-39 and she is eighth all-time with a .610 career winning percentage.

Chan and the Bradley women's tennis team will back in action September 29 through October 1 at the State Farm MVC Individual Championship in Omaha, Neb.
