PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore forward Justin Bigelow (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) has been named the Bradley Country Insurance & Financial Services Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Tuesday, after helping the Bradley soccer team to a 1-0-1 record last week.
Bigelow drew a pair of fouls that led to both goals in the Braves 2-0 home victory against Missouri Valley Conference foe Evansville and netted his first goal of the year in a 1-1 tie at Missouri State. Enrolled in Bradley's award-winning Academic Exploration Program, Bigelow owns a 3.22 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Insurance & Financial Services Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Bigelow and the Braves (8-4-3 overall, 1-0-2 MVC) return to action Saturday when they play host to Drake at 7 p.m. at Shea Stadium.
