Women?s Golf Ranked 43rd In Balanced Programs By Golf Digest

Erais Seventh, Braves Fourth At Johnie Imes Invite

PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior Bari-Lynn Erais (Lethbridge, Alberta/Lethbridge Institute) shot the fifth-best round of the day, carding a final-round 75 to finish seventh at the Johnie Imes Invitational at the par 72 Club at Old Hawthorne. Erais helped the Bradley women's golf team to a fourth-place finish in a field which included four teams ranked in the top 100 according to Golfweek.com

Entering the day in a tie for ninth place, Erais fired the low-round of the day for the Braves with her final-round 75 and finished alone in seventh place at 12-over par 228. The top 10 finish was the first of the season for a Bradley golfer and moved Erais into a tie for third with Jenna Cannon in school history with 12 career top 10 finishes.

Freshman Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Coaldale) posted her second top 20 finish in three tournaments as a Brave, finishing alone in 16th at 239. Neufeld started the day in a tie for 12th place at 157 and shot 82 during Tuesday's play to finish 11 shots behind Erais.

Senior Rikki Sobel (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) was one shot behind Neufeld in a tie for 17th at 240, after shooting a final-round 80 to finish in the top 20 for the first time this fall. Fellow senior Whitney Cox (Edmonton, Alberta/Harry Ainlay) saved her best round of the tournament for the last round, shooting a 78 to climb into a tie for 30th at 246. Freshman Caitlin Deeken (California, Mo./California) rounded out the team scoring for the Braves with a final round 97 and was tied for 43rd at 257.

Freshman Amanda Mendrek (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) played as an individual in her first collegiate tournament, and wrapped up play with an 86 to finish tied for 47th at 260.

Tournament-host Missouri ran away with the team title, finishing 30 shots better than second-place finisher Princeton. Missouri shot 892 during the three rounds, while Princeton took second place at 922. Indiana was three shots behind Princeton in third place at 925. Bradley shot 315 during Tuesday's play and finished fourth at 945.

Memphis finished 17 shots behind the Braves in fifth place at 962, while Missouri Valley Conference rivals Wichita State (974) and Northern Iowa (984), finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Eastern Illinois was eighth at 991 and Drury finished ninth at 1002. UMKC rounded out the field in 10th place at 1041.

The Braves will close out their fall schedule, Oct. 29 & 30 at the Pat Bradley Invitational in Fort Myers, Fla.
