PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore Justin Bigelow (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) has been named the Bradley Country Insurance & Financial Services Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday, after helping the Bradley soccer team to a 2-0 victory against DePaul in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last week.

Bigelow scored an insurance goal, netting his second goal of the season in the 83rd minute of the Braves 2-0 victory over DePaul Saturday at Shea Stadium. The victory was Bradley's first-ever NCAA Tournament win in four trips and helped the Braves tie a school record with their 15th victory of the year. Enrolled in Bradley's award-winning Academic Exploration Program, Bigelow owns a 3.22 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Insurance & Financial Services Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Bigelow and the Braves will face seven-time national champion and sixth-ranked Indiana at 6 p.m. (CST) tonight in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The winner of tonight's match in Bloomington, Ind., will face Maryland or Loyola (Md.) Saturday or Sunday in the Sweet 16.
