AMES, Iowa ? Bradley senior Jennifer Jenkins (Calumet City, Ill. /Thornwood H.S.) helped highlight the first day action for the Bradley women's track and field team Friday at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.

Jenkins put in an excellent performance in the women's weight throw, recording a toss of 56'3 3/4", which was good for a 16th-place finish. Senior Kim Martin (Bartonville, Ill. /Limestone H.S.) threw 47'9'' in the weight throw competition, to finish 40th. 

Bradley set three season-best times during day one at the ISU Classic, with junior Ainslie Schultz (Forest City, Iowa /Forest City H.S.) turning in a career-best time of 18:35.97 in the 5,000 meters. Senior Maya Monitto-Webber (Iowa City, Iowa/ Iowa City H.S.) clocked a season-best time of 9.75 in the 60 meter hurdles, while freshman Erika Sepich (Canton, Ill./Canton) finished with a season-best time of 27.13 in the 200 meter dash.

The Braves will be back in action Saturday as the ISU Classic resumes at 10:00 a.m.
