Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honor

PEORIA, Ill. ? The Bradley men's and women's cross country teams were two of 231 Division I men's and women's programs recognized as United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams, announced Thursday by the USTFCCCA.

 

The USTFCCCA honors individuals and teams for their academic and athletic accomplishments during the cross country season. A total of 145 Division I women's teams and 86 men's teams had cumulative grade point averages of 3.0 or better.

 

Stanford was named the 2006 Division I Women's All-Academic Team of the Year, while Iona earned the honor on the men's side. Bradley was one of seven Missouri Valley Conference teams recognized on the women's side and one of four Valley men's programs recognized. The Bradley women are being joined by Drake, Evansville, Indiana State, Missouri State and Southern Illinois, while Evansville, Drake and Indiana State were the only other MVC men's teams to earn the honor. A total of 21 individuals from both the men's and women's cross country teams were named to the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll following the Fall Semester.
