Senior Jennifer Jenkins (Calumet City, Ill./Thornwood) was fifth in the weight throw and sophomore Katie Nowak (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) placed fifth in the one mile run to highlight second day action for the Bradley Track and Field team at the 2007 State Farm Missouri Valley Indoor Track and Field Championship Saturday at Southern Illinois
The Braves turned in four top ten finishes and set a total of five season bests in the teams final tune up before the outdoor track and field season.
Nowak helped highlight the day's action for Bradley, placing fifth in the one mile run with a season-best time of 5:05.09, while senior Sarah Westrick (Livonia, Mich./Winston Churchill H.S.) finished tenth with a season-best time of 5:16.89. Freshman Shannon Seyller (Harvard, Ill./Harvard) was the other Bradley runner in the one mile race, finishing 18th with a time of 5:31.28.
Junior Ainslie Schultz (Forest City, Iowa /Forest City H.S.) finished the 3,000-meter run in 14th-place with a season-best time of 10:24.36. Freshman Rachel Brubaker (Davis, Ill./Durand) was 27th, finishing in a time of 10:50.74, while freshman Shelby Lile (Jefferson City, Mo. /Jefferson City) crossed the line in a season-best time of 10:55.28 to place 28th overall in the event.
Jenkins was fifth in the weight throw with a season-best toss of 17.64 meters (57'10.50"), while senior Kim Martin was ninth with a heave of 15.17 meters (49'09.25").
The Braves return to action March 3 at the NCAA Indoor Qualifier in Ames, Iowa.
