PATTERSON, Calif. ? Senior Scott Phegley continued his streak of consecutive rounds in the 70's and is tied for 16th place, while the Bradley men's golf team is fifth among Division I teams after 36 holes at the Diablo Grande Invitational at the Diablo Grande Golf Resort in Patterson, Calif.
Phegley, who has shot all 15 rounds this season in the 70's, carded rounds of 77 and 74 to finish the day tied for 16th at 151 to highlight Monday's first two rounds for the Braves. Junior Tommie Ackerman fired rounds of 79 and 81 to end the day tied for 41st at 160.
Freshman Zach Wanken is four shots behind Ackerman in a tie for 44th place at 164 after shooting rounds of 83 and 81 and fellow freshman Kyle Phelan is tied for 51st heading into Tuesday's final round after shooting rounds of 86 and 79 to end the day at 165. Junior Nick Roth rounded out the scoring for the Braves in a tie for 53rd place at 166 after turning in rounds of 81 and 85 during Monday's play.
The Braves are fifth among Division I teams in the field at 635 after rounds of 320 and 315, Monday. Sacramento State leads the field with a two-round total of 593. Missouri State is second among Division I schools, 11 shots back at 604, while tournament-host Drake finished the day at 610. Birmingham Southern is fourth among Division I competitors at 624 with Bradley following at 635.
Bradley will conclude action at the Diablo Grande Invitational Tuesday with one round of play.
