GREEN BAY, Wis. ? The Bradley women's tennis team won five of six singles matches to claim a 5-2 victory at Wisconsin-Green Bay and win its fourth consecutive match Saturday in Green Bay, Wis.
After losing two of three doubles matches and the doubles point to the Phoenix, the Braves regrouped to claim straight set victories in five of six singles matches to pick up the win and improve to 5-3 on the season.
The duo of senior Elise Montrose (Portland, Ore./Sunset) and freshman Jessica Buterbaugh (Paradise Valley, Ariz./Chaparral) were the Braves only winners in doubles play, claiming a 9-8 (7-5) win over Heather Harding and Jennifer Tan at No. 1 doubles.
Montrose picked up her second win of the day with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Harding at No. 1 singles to help highlight the Braves victory. Freshman Emily Regenold (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) won her match at No. 2 singles against Jennifer Tan, 6-1, 6-2, while senior Teri Chan (Gurnee, Ill./Warren) took out Ashley Jurgella in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
Buterbaugh also won in straight sets at No. 4 singles over Lauryn Grimando 7-5, 6-2. Sophomore Erin Krubeck's 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles over Amy Meissner helped seal the Braves victory.
The Braves continue their trek through Wisconsin Sunday with a 1 p.m. match at Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
