ZIONSVILLE, Ind. ? Senior Scott Phegley fired a final round 76 and finished tied for sixth to help the Bradley men's golf team to a tie for seventh place among NCAA Division I teams at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate Monday at the par-71, 7,065-yard Wolf Run Golf Club.
Phegley followed up his first round 82 with a final-round 76 to jump into the top ten and finish tied for sixth at 158 to lead the Braves. Bradley finished the shortened event, which was originally scheduled for 54 holes, with a two-round total of 667 to tie for seventh.
Junior Tommie Ackerman shot an 87 during Monday's play to tie for 45th place at 169 and freshman Zach Wanken fired an 86 to finish in 58th place at 172. Junior Nick Roth was 10 shots better in the final round, shooting 82 to finish 61st at 174, while senior Ryan Saurs rounded out the scoring with a 92 and finished tied for 71st.
Akron won the team title after shooting 313 Monday and finished 18 shots ahead of all other teams with a total of 616. Miami-Ohio was second at 634, with Northern Illinois finishing third at 647. Oakland was fourth among Division I teams at 648 and was followed by Ball State (655) and Cincinnati (659).
IUPUI-B and Bradley were both tied for seventh at 667, with IUPUI (669), Butler (670), Detroit (678) and Dayton (686) rounding out the field respectively.
Bradley returns to action Monday, April 23rd and 24th at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship in Kansas City, Mo.
