Jenkins Leads Braves At Final Day Of Vanderbilt Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. ? Senior Jennifer Jenkins (Calumet City, Ill./ Thornwood) earned a seventh-place finish in the hammer throw to highlight Saturday's action for the Bradley Track and Field team at the Vanderbilt Invitational.

 

Jenkins' throw beat the 24 of the 31 competitors in the field with a heave of 51.12 meters. Freshman Catherine Schamberger (Amboy, Ill./Amboy) finished in 25th-place with a throw of 34.41 meters, while Anne Bucalo (Fox River Grove, Ill./Cary-Grove) finished in 29th-place with toss of 30.85 meters.  Schamberger took 20th place in the shot put with a toss of 12.40 meters, while Bucalo also took 30th with a toss of 12.03 meters.

 

Freshman Erika Sepich (Canton, Ill./Canton) led the Braves in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.09 for a 44th-place showing.  Sophomore Trish Martens (Elgin, Ill. /Burlington Central) finished with a time of 13.69 for 49th-place, while  Amanda Harms (Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South) clocked a time of 13.78 for 50th-place and sophomore Jessica Holloway (Paris, Ill./Paris) finished in 13.95 for a 52nd place effort.  Sepich also lead the Braves in the 200-meter dash finishing 41st and clocking a time of 27.16. Holloway finished in 29.49 (53rd) and Calvert rounded out the event for the Braves with a time of 29.54.

 

Freshman Rachel Brubaker (Davis, Ill./Durand) finished the 800 meter run in 53rd-place with a time of 2:24.88, while sophomore Nikki Greendyke (Greenville, Ohio/Greenville) finished the in 29th-place with a season-best time of 2:32.75. Junior Julia Schurr (Canal Winchester, Ohio/Bloom-Carroll) clocked a time of 1:00.62 in the 400 meter run for 36th-place.

 

Senior Maya Monitto-Webber (Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City) was 15th in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking a 1:05.82.  Harms finished the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.43 to finish 32nd.

 

The Braves return to action Saturday at the Butler Stan Lyons Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind.
