MACOMB, Ill. ? Cold temperatures and frigid wind chills didn't keep play at the Beu-Mussatto Invitational from getting under way and the Bradley men's golf team is ninth of 10 NCAA Division I teams after 18 holes at the par-72, Harry Mussatto Golf Course.

Snow and temperatures hovering in the low 30's forced the 54-hole event to be shortened to 36 holes with one round scheduled for Friday and Saturday.  The Braves shot a 340 during Friday's opening round and sit in ninth among the 10 Division I schools in the field heading into Saturday's final round.

Senior Brad Molitor was Bradley's top performer Friday, shooting an 84, and is tied for 41^st.  Senior Scott Phegley is one shot behind Molitor in a tie for 50^th after shooting an 85.  Freshman Kyle Phelan also shot an 85 to end the day tied with Phegley for 50^th place.

Fellow freshman Zach Zobrist carded an 86 and is tied for 60^th, while junior Nick Roth rounded out the scoring for the Braves with a first round 90 and will enter Saturday's play tied for 81^st.

Western Illinois is first in the team standings after carding a 312 Friday and holds a two-shot lead on second-place North Dakota State (314).  DePaul is third overall at 320 and is followed by Wisconsin-Green Bay and Creighton which are both tied for fourth at 322. 

Chicago State is sixth among Division I teams at 323, with Western Illinois-Gold following at 328.  IUPUI finished the day eighth among Division I teams at 339, with Bradley following right behind at 340.  Loyola rounds out the Division I field at 343.

Bradley will close out play at the Beu-Mussato Invitational Saturday with one round of play.
