PEORIA, Ill. ? A pair of former Bradley student-athletes won their respective divisions of the 39th annual Tri-County Tennis Championship this past weekend at Glen Oak Park. Teri Chan, the winningest player in Bradley women's tennis history, claimed the women's singles title, while former Bradley men's basketball guard Bobby Humbles took the Men's 45 Singles title.

Chan, who was competing in her first non-collegiate event in four years, defeated Knox College women's tennis coach Wendy Rogers 6-1, 6-2 in the championship match. Chan advanced to the title match after posting a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 victory over Susie Sorenson in the semifinals.

A spring graduate of Bradley with a degree in finance, Chan tied the school mark for singles wins in a season, going 19-13 as a senior and also ended her career as the Braves all-time leader in both singles victories (73) and combined wins (116).

A Peoria native, Humbles starred on the hardwood at Bradley from 1974-78, scoring 1,262 points and dishing out 381 assists during his four-year college basketball career.  He earned the 45 Singles championship Saturday by downing Marcelo Algrain, 6-2, 6-1 in the final.
