DES MOINES, Iowa ? Sunday marked the final day of play at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships for the Bradley women's tennis team, as the Braves combined to win three singles matches and a doubles match.

In the third doubles flight, freshman Veronika Wojakowska (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer H.S.) and senior Erin Krubeck (Boulder, Colo./Fairview H.S.) defeated the Northern Iowa pairing of Jessica Kunzelmann and Diana Mendez in a walkover to give the BU pairing a third place finish.  Wojakowska and Krubeck finished the three-day event with a 2-1 record.

The Braves played one other doubles match on Sunday, but the BU duo of junior Emily Regenold (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton H.S.) and sophomore Nicole Miller (Glendale Heights, Ill./Glenbard West) came up short, dropping their third place match in the first doubles flight to Sarah Meghoufel and Valeriia Petrovych of Indiana State, 8-6.

In singles play, Wojakowska dropped the first set against Northern Iowa's Taynara Moraes, 6-0, but the Bradley freshman rebounded to claim fifth place in the third singles flight with a hard-fought 0-6, 7-6, 10-8 victory.  Regenold needed only two sets to earn a seventh place finish with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Evansville's Ashton Schwerin in the second singles flight.  Junior Jessica Buterbaugh (Paradise Valley, Ariz./Chaparral H.S.) recorded the third BU singles victory of the day, topping Stephanie Mills of Evansville in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6, for a seventh place finish in the fifth singles flight.

Krubeck played for fifth place in the sixth singles flight, but Drake's Amanda Aragon topped Krubeck in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.  Miller dropped her seventh place match in the top singles flight, a 3-6, 7-5, 10-8 decision to Creighton's Lauren Mastro.  Junior Kelly Donohue (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) lost her seventh place match to Jessica Flannery of Southern Illinois, 7-5, 6-0 in the fourth singles flight.

Following a 10-day break, the Braves will return to the court for their final event of the fall schedule at the ITA Regionals in East Lansing, Mich. starting Thursday, Oct. 23.
