Cross Country Ends Season at Midwest Regional

STILLWATER, Okla. ? Bradley junior Amanda Switzer (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem H.S.) ran a 6-kilometer time of 23:12.25, leading the women's cross country team to a 25th place team finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional hosted by Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla., Saturday.

Switzer was the top women's finisher for the first time this season, finishing 106th individually. Sophomore Mary Goldkamp (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North H.S.) was next for the Braves, finishing in 136th place in a time of 23:34.25. Goldkamp's classmate, Laruen Fog (Harvard, Ill./Harvard H.S.), finished just three seconds behind her, as Fog completed the 6K race in a time of 23:37.35 for 139th place.

Junior Rachel Brubaker (Davis, Ill./Durand H.S.) was 159th, running the course in a time of 24:05.65, while sophomore Leann Murphy (Rochester, Ill./Rochester H.S.) was the final finisher for the Braves in a time of 24:21.90 for 165th place.

The lone Bradley finisher in the men's race was sophomore Brian Tyne (Polo, Ill./Polo H.S.), who ran the 10-kilometer race in a time 34:35.45 to narrowly miss his career-best. Tyne placed 129th overall.

Second-ranked Oklahoma State won the men's team title after claiming four of the top seven individual finishes in the 10K race. Hassan Mead of Minnesota won the individual title in a time of 31:15.65. In the women's race, Minnesota edged Illinois for the team title, while Iowa's Racheal Marchand claimed the individual crown in 20:32.05.
