Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) tied for fourth and senior
Bari Erais (Lethbridge, Alberta/Lethbridge Collegiate Institute) tied for the fifth place as the duo helped lead the Bradley women's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Lamkin Grip/Cal Poly Invitational.
Amundrud matched her opening round 74 with a two-over par 74 during Tuesday's action to finish five shots behind medalist Mary Beth McKenna of Xavier at 148 at the par-72 Cypress Ridge Golf Course. Erais, who tied a school record with her opening round 69 Monday, began the day with a share of the individual lead. Playing with an injured finger suffered late in the opening round, Erais finished one shot behind Amundrud in a tie for fifth place at 149 after her second-round 80.
Sophomores Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Coaldale) and Caitlin Deeken (California, Mo./California) each shot 80's during the first day of play and matched their first round scores of 80 to finish tied for 46th at 160. Freshman Keegan Ryan (Groveland, Ill./Morton) rounded out things for the Braves, shooting 85 to finish in a tie for 83rd at 169 in the 103-person field.
The Braves turned in the fifth best round of the day with a final round 314. San Jose State, which was ranked 27th in the latest Golfweek.com rankings, claimed the team title with a 36-hole score of 598. Sacramento State was 12 shots behind San Jose State in second at 610 and UC Riverside claimed third at 613. Tournament-host Cal Poly took fourth at 614, finishing three shots ahead of Bradley (5th - 617). Cal State-Northridge followed in sixth place at 622.
Santa Clara shot 625 to edge out Northern Arizona (626) for seventh place. Drake and Xavier were right behind in a tie for ninth place at 627, while Portland took 11th at 629. Gonzaga placed 12th (635) and was followed by Boise State (13th - 637), Weber State (14th - 657) and UC Riverside's second team (15th - 658) to round out the top 15 in the field. Cal State-Bakersfield took 16th (662) with Utah Valley (17th - 666), Southern Utah (18th - 672) and Idaho State (19th - 681) completing the field, respectively.
The Braves concluded their fall schedule, finishing fifth or better in three of five tournaments. Bradley is scheduled to open the spring slate Feb. 22-24 at the Kiawah Island National Invitational in Kiawah Island, S.C.
