ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Freshman Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golfer of the Week announced by the league office Thursday, after helping Bradley to a fifth-place finish at the Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Invitational earlier this week.

Amundrud fired a pair of 74's in the 36-hole event at the par-72 Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande, Calif. She was five shots behind the medalist in fourth place in the 103-person field with her score of 148. Amundrud finished ahead of five players ranked in Golfweek.com's top 160, including San Jose State's Erica Moston, who was ranked 18th, and MVC stroke-average leader Olivia Lansing of Drake.

The award is the second MVC Golfer of the Week honors for the Braves this fall. Senior Bari Erais (Lethbridge, Alberta/Lethbridge Collegiate Institute) earned the fifth MVC Golfer of the Week honors of her career earlier this season after a second-place finish at the Payne Stewart Memorial.

Amundrud capped a very successful fall schedule with her fourth-place finish at the Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Invitational. The freshman leads the team with a 77.3 stroke average and has turned in a team-best nine rounds in the 70's. In five tournaments, Amundrud placed in the top 20 four times including two top 10 finishes.

The Braves are scheduled to open the spring schedule Feb. 22-24 at the Kiawah Island National Invite in Kiawah Island, S.C.
