PEORIA, Ill. ? Bradley freshman Nicole Miller (Glendale Heights, Ill./Glenbard West H.S.) improved her spring dual record to 3-0 with a victory at No. 5 singles, but Wisconsin-Milwaukee won the remaining five singles matches on their way to a 5-2 dual victory over the Braves Friday afternoon at the Clubs at River City.

Miller won the first set against Ashley Schoneman, 7-5, before Schoneman retired. Miller has now won each of her three dual matches, improving her overall season record to 5-6.

The Panthers (6-6) regained control during singles play on their way to the 5-2 win. Bradley sophomore Emily Regenold (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton H.S.) retired at No. 1 after dropping the first set to Kelly Drvaric, 6-1. Martina Schnapp defeated sophomore Jessica Buterbaugh (Paradise Valley, Ariz./Chaparral H.S.) at No. 2, 6-3, 6-4. The best match of the day came at No. 3 singles. Juinor Kelly Donohue (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) claimed the first set from Kari Kastenholz, 7-6, before Kastenholz returned the favor with a 7-6 win in the second set. In the third set tiebreaker, Kastenholz outlasted Donohue for the win, 10-8. At No. 4 singles, Sammi Schoen topped junior Erin Krubeck (Boulder, Colo./Fairview H.S.), 6-1, 6-4, while Jenna Felsher defeated junior Kim Braun (Racine, Wis./The Prairie School) in straight sets at No. 6, 6-1, 6-3.

The Braves (1-2), playing for the first time since a Feb. 9 win at Valparaiso, started out the match with an early lead, taking two of three doubles matches against the Panthers. Regenold and Miller moved to 3-0 on the dual season with a 9-7 victory at No. 2 doubles over Schoen and Schoneman. Krubeck and Braun won for the second consecutive match at No. 3 doubles, besting Schnapp and Felsher, 9-8 to secure the doubles point for the Braves. At No. 1 doubles, Drvaric and Kastenholz defeated sophomores Donohue and Buterbaugh, 8-1.

"Our doubles play has been pretty solid so far," Bradley head coach Scott Petersen said. "We just need to maintain that momentum and start closing out singles matches."

The Braves will host Detroit Sunday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at the Clubs at River City in the second of a three-match homestand. Eastern Illinois will visit Peoria Thursday, March 6.
