CARBONDALE, Ill. ? Three Braves are in the top 10 and five of six players shot in the 70's to help the Bradley women's golf team to a share of the lead after one round of play at the Saluki Invitational being played at the par-70 Crab Orchard Golf Club.  Play was delayed more than four hours Sunday and will conclude Monday with one round of play.

The Braves are tied with tournament-host Southern Illinois after shooting a season-best 299 in the first round.  Bradley's first-round 299 is the best for the Braves since shooting 295 in the final round of the 2007 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament and is the sixth sub-300 round in program history.

Freshman Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Coaldale) carded a first round 73 and is tied for fifth place.  Neufeld enters Tuesday's final round one shot out of a four-way tie for first place.  Junior Bari Erais (Lethbridge, Alberta/Lethbridge Collegiate Institute) and senior Rikki Sobel (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) are also in the top 10, as both are tied for ninth after shooting 75 during Sunday's opening day of play.

Freshman Caitlin Deeken (California, Mo./California) matched her season-best, carding a 76 Sunday and is tied for 16th in the 79-person field to round out the team scoring for the Braves.  Senior Whitney Cox (Edmonton, Alberta/Harry Ainlay) is one shot behind Deeken in a tie for 21st at 77.  Junior Lauren Downing (Rockton, Ill./Hononeagh) shot an 88 Sunday and is 69th place.

Bradley is tied with Southern Illinois atop the team standings with a two-shot lead on Murray State (301).  Illinois State is fourth overall, five shots behind the Racers at 306.  Northern Iowa and Drake are tied for fifth place at 307 and Indiana State is two shots back in seventh at 309.  Creighton enters the final round of play in 10th at 310 with Eastern Illinois (316) and Eastern Kentucky (319) rounding out the top 10, respectively.  Western Illinois (11th ? 334) and Rend Lake Community College (12th ? 348) complete the field.

The Braves close out play at the Saluki Invitational Monday with one round of play.
