PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley Soccer program will launch the athletic department's first-ever online auction Saturday and the funds generated from the sale of the team's jerseys from the historic 2007 season will benefit the school's Danny Dahlquist Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The auction, which will be available through the athletic department's official website -- www.BradleyBraves.com -- will launch at noon Saturday to coincide with the 2007 Bradley Soccer Celebration Weekend and will continue through May 31.

The available jerseys will include both the white and red short-sleeved versions, as well as the goalkeeper tops, worn throughout the season by the entire roster.  In addition, eight numberless jerseys also will be available.

The noon launch of the online auction will occur at the same time as the Bradley Soccer team's only home game of the spring exhibition season.  The Braves will take on Missouri Valley Conference rival Drake in a noon scrimmage Saturday at Shea Stadium.  The exhibition game will be followed by the 2007 Bradley Soccer Celebration Banquet at 5:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites East Peoria.

The 2007 Bradley Soccer season began in tragedy with the Aug. 12 death of redshirt freshman Danny Dahlquist, the eldest son of longtime Bradley University employees Craig and Tricia Dahlquist.  The Braves overcame the tragedy on the field and rallied for the most successful season in program history, finishing with a school-record 16 wins, sweeping the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and postseason tournament titles and earning the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament wins en route to the national quarterfinals.

Bradley head coach Jim DeRose reports donations received throughout the year to benefit the Danny Dahlquist Memorial Fund have reached approximately $15,000.  An additional $15,000 is required to sustain both the memorial and endowed portions of the fund.
