CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Sophomore Erika Sepich (Canton, Ill./Canton) qualified for the finals in the javelin to highlight day one of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Track and Field Outdoor Championship Friday for the Bradley Track and Field team.
Sepich had a toss of 34.65 meters (113'-08") in the preliminaries of the javelin to qualify for the finals and finished 10th to highlight day one action for the Braves.
Senior Kim Martin (Bartonville, Ill./Limestone) opened competition for Bradley with a 12th place finish the hammer throw with a toss of 47.59 meters (156'-02").
Senior Shelby Lile (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City) was the only other Brave to compete during the first day of competition, finishing 12th in the 10,000 meters. Lile crossed the line in a time of 39:30.17, missing a season-best by just over four seconds.

The Braves continue competition at the 98th State MVC Championship Saturday beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the shot put.
