PEORIA, Ill. ? A consensus All-American on the pitch and a three-time All-Missouri Valley Conference performer on the links, senior sweeper Joe Donoho (Tampa, Fla./Jesuit H.S.) and junior women's golfer Bari Erais (Lethbridge, Alberta/Lethbridge Institute) are the winners of the male and female versions of the annual Bradley University Alumni B-Club Most Outstanding Athlete Awards.
Donoho was tabbed Bradley's first-ever Missouri Valley Conference Soccer Player of the Year after leading the Braves (16-6-4) to a share of their third straight regular-season league crown. He went on to earn all-tournament honors during Bradley's run to its first-ever State Farm MVC Tournament championship, then helped key the team's magical trip to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. While guiding the Braves to nine shutouts from his sweeper position, Donoho also led the team with four game-winning goals and finished third with six goals overall and 15 points.
In addition to his Valley Player-of-the-Year award, Donoho joined former Bradley star Gavin Glinton (2000) as the only consensus All-Americans in the program's 21-year history.
Bradley's top player throughout the season, Erais earned her third All-MVC honor by ranking third in The Valley wtih a 77.2 scoring average during the 2007-08 season. The tournament medalist at the First Market Bank Invitational in Williamsburg, Va., Erais finished in the top 10 in five tournaments and was named the MVC Women's Golfer of the Week three times. She also earned ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District V second-team honors and Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete notice for her combined performance on the links and in the classroom.
Donoho becomes the fourth soccer player to win the male version of the Alumni B-Club Most Outstanding Athlete, following four-time winner Glinton (1999-00-01-02), Tim Regan (2003) and Chris Dunsheath (2006). Also the 2007 winner, Erais gives the women's golf team a four-year hold on the women's version of the B-Club Most Outstanding Athlete award and she becomes the third repeat winner on the women's side, following fellow golfer Meaghan LeBlanc (2005-06) and former track and cross country star Mary Ellen Hill (1998-99-00).
