PEORIA, Ill. --
Senior women's golfer
Bari Erais (Lethbridge, Alberta/Lethbridge Collegiate Institute) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week announced by the league office Wednesday, after finishing second at the Payne Stewart Memorial.
Erais fired rounds of 75 and 71 in the 36-hole event to finish tied atop the individual leaderboard with McNeese State's Maggie Welch. Welsh claimed medalist honors over Erais, however, when she shot par on a playoff hole. Erais helped the Braves to a fourth-place finish in the season-opening event and was one of two Braves to finish in the top 10.
Her second-round 71 is tied for the 12th best round in program history and gives Erais seven career rounds of 72 or lower. She also pushed her school-career record for top 10 finishes to 17 in addition to becoming just the second player in program history with 60 or more career rounds in the 70's.
The Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week selection marks the fifth time Erais has earned the honor. Former Bradley standout Meaghan LeBlanc is the only other player in program history to have earned the award more than three times, as she was a four-time MVC Golfer of the Week during her time on The Hilltop.
Erais and the Braves return to action Sept. 29-30 at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
