EVANSTON, Ill.

After splitting her first two singles matches of the tournament on Friday, Bradley senior Erin Krubeck (Boulder, Colo./Fairview H.S.) recorded two resounding singles victories in Flight D to finish the tournament on a three-match win streak and win the back draw, Saturday, at the Ball State Fall Invitational in Muncie, Ind.
Krubeck started the day with a straight sets sweep over Butler's Kahfii King, 6-0, 6-0. She followed up that win with her third straight triumph, a 6-0, 6-1 win over Monica Capozziello of Wright State.
The Braves combined to win four singles matches on Saturday. Junior Emily Regenold posted a victory in Flight A, downing Wright State's Karina Presti in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2 in an extra match. Junior Jessica Buterbaugh (Paradise Valley, Ariz./Chaparral H.S.) was one of two BU players to play an extra match in Flight C on Saturday, defeating Vanessa Carna of IUPUI, 6-4, 6-4. Senior Kim Braun dropped a three-set match to Butler's Ashley Breitenbach, 0-6, 6-3, 12-10.
Freshman Veronika Wojakowska (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer H.S.) netted two singles wins on Friday to land in the semifinals of Flight B, but fell on Saturday, 6-1, 6-2 to Becky Jenkins of Buter. Junior Kelly Donohue (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) lost her Flight C back draw match to Katie Friedlund of Northern Illinois, 6-0, 6-2. Sophomore Nicole Miller also dropped a back draw match on Saturday, falling to Kari Kastenholz of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 6-0, 7-6 in Flight A.
In doubles play, the Braves went a combined 0-3 on Saturday.
The women's tennis team will return to the court in two weeks at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships, beginning Thursday, Oct. 9 in Des Moines, Iowa.
