PEORIA, Ill. ? Bradley sophomore goalkeeper Drew Van Kampen (Naperville, Ill./Waubonsie Valley H.S.) has been named the Prairie Farms/Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.

A communications (advertising) major, Van Kampen owns a 3.00 cumulative grade point average. He was joined by Creighton women's soccer player Marcy Gans as recipients of the weekly award.

On Tuesday, Van Kampen was named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Van Kampen was named to the Memphis Diadora Tournament All-Tournament team after posting a 0.50 goal against average in the season's first two games, helping the Braves to a pair of victories. In all, Van Kampen faced 35 shots during the two-game trip and allowed only one goal while posting a .917 saves percentage.

Now in its tenth year of existence, The Valley's Scholar-Athlete program is sponsored by Prairie Farms, Roberts and Hiland Dairies. To qualify for Prairie Farms/Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week laurels, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00, completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing. In addition to the academic qualifications, student-athletes will be evaluated on their athletic performance for a one-week period.

Van Kampen and the Braves will host Western Illinois this Friday at 7 p.m. in Bradley's home opener at Shea Stadium.
