DES MOINES, Iowa ? Sophomore Sonya Harris (Riverdale, Ill./Thornton) scored a career-high 19 points and matched career-bests with 14 rebounds and six blocked shots, but Bradley was unable to overcome 27 turnovers, as the Braves fell 71-51 Friday night at Drake in Missouri Valley Conference women's basketball action. Drake used a 10-point second-half run to seize control of the tightly contested matchup and hand BU its first back-to-back losses of the season.

The Braves (13-4 overall, 4-2 MVC) made 11-of-19 shots to open the game, but committed 14 first-half turnovers.  With the score tied 22-22, BU went scoreless for a five minute stretch and Drake (11-7 overall, 5-2 MVC) capitalized with an eight-point spurt to take a 30-22 lead. The Braves answered with seven consecutive points to cut the Bulldogs lead to 30-29, but three free throws by Drake's Kristin Turk with 2.2 seconds left on the clock gave Drake a 33-29 halftime lead.

BU hung with the Bulldogs in the early going of the second half and trailed 45-41 with just over eight minutes remaining, when senior Jordann Plummer sparked a 10-0 Bulldog run with a jumper to help Drake take a 55-41 lead with just under five minutes remaining.

Bradley trimmed the deficit to 10 points (61-51) with 2:54 left on a Renee Frericks (Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake) three-pointer, but the Braves would miss their final seven shots from the field.

Plummer made a pair of free throws on Drake's next possession to push the Bulldogs' lead to 63-51 and a BU turnover was followed by a Rachel Hackbarth basket to spark a 10-point Drake run to close the game.

Harris hit 9-of-16 shots from the field and finished with a career-best 19 points. The only Bradley player with more than four rebounds, she matched a career-high with 14 boards and also collected six blocked shots. Sophomore Raisa Taylor (Decatur, Ill./Eisenhower) added 11 points off the bench, while junior guard Skye Johnson (Olympia Fields, Ill./Marian Catholic) dished out a career-high 11 assists to go along with six points.

Bradley shot 42.9 percent from the field and finished with 27 turnovers. Drake owned a 27-12 edge in points off turnovers. Drake shot 40 percent from the field, but made 25-of-31 free throw attempts (80.6 percent).

Plummer scored 15 of her game-high 20 points in the second half and also hauled down seven rebounds. Brittnye McSparron added 15 points and Hackbarth chipped in 11 points off the bench to help Drake to its fifth consecutive victory.

Bradley returns to action Sunday when the Braves close out a three-game MVC road swing with a 2:05 p.m. contest against Creighton at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
