OMAHA, Neb - Taking advantage of a second opportunity to run the same corner kick play, Creigthon's Seth Sinovic found Ethan Finlay at the near post for a back header in the 41st minute and the Bluejays (3-2-1, 1-1-0) rode the goal to a 1-0 victory against visiting Bradley (5-3-1, 0-1-) in Missouri Valley Conference action Wednesday night at Morrison Stadium.

The loss snapped Bradley's eight-game unbeaten streak (6-0-2) in Valley openers, which includes an 0-4-1 mark against the Bluejays.

Through the 30-minute mark Bradley owned a 5-3 advantage in shots, but Peoria Notre Dame High School product entered the game for the Bluejays at that point and his play at the top of the Creighton attack swung the momentum to the home side.  O'Neil set up the scoring play by making a run through the center of the Bradley penalty area and firing a shot toward the near post that Bradley keeper Drew Van Kampen was able to push over the endline with a diving stop.

Sinovic attempted to find Finlay's head at the near post with the resulting corner kick.  Although the service missed, Creighton back Chris Shuler nearly connected with a diving header as the Bradley defense again knocked the ball out of bounds.  On the second corner, Sinovic connected with Finlay's head at the near post and the Creighton forward flicked back inside the far post for his second goal of the year.

Although defenseless against Finlay's goal, Van Kampen came up with seven saves on the night, including a two one-on-one stops in the second half to keep the Braves in the game.

Creighton outshot the Braves 17-7 and owned an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal, but Bradley did generate some chances.  Midway through the first half, sophomore back Bryan Gaul nearly scored on his own corner kick when he sent his left-footed service swerving to the near post.  Creighton keeper Brian Holt was able to push the ball off the crossbar and a pair of Braves took swipes at the rebound, but could not connect and hit the open net before the Bluejays were finally able to clear the ball.

With just under five minutes left in the game, Bradley back Tapiwa Machingauta played a free kick from the center line over the top of the Creighton defense.  Forward Chris Cutshaw was able to sneak behind the line and got a clean header away from the penalty spot, but the ball sailed inches over the crossbar.  From there, the Bluejays were able to maintain enough possession to run out the clock.

Bradley will return to action Saturday night when the Braves host Valley rival Drake at 7 p.m. at Shea Stadium in the annual Homecoming game.  The match against the Bulldogs will open a three-game homestand for the Braves, which will continue Oct. 10 versus Missouri State and Oct. 14 against Evansville, both 7 p.m. kickoffs.
