SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Including a pair of goals from forward Paul Paradise, Missouri State scored three times inside the game's first 20 minutes and the host Bears eliminated Bradley (5-9-1, 0-7-0 MVC) from postseason contention with a 3-0 Missouri Valley Conference men's soccer victory Saturday afternoon at Plaster Field.

Bradley had reached the semifinal round of 11 consecutive State Farm MVC Tournaments, but with no points through the first seven rounds of league play, the Braves will not qualify for the re-formatted, four-team MVC Tournament in 2009.  Instead of extending the streak of 11 consecutive MVC Tournament appearances, Bradley suffered its 11th consecutive regular-season Valley loss, matching the longest such streak in Jim DeRose's 14 years as head coach.

The Bears got all the offense they needed in the fifth minute when Paradise slid through the box to push Kyle Windmueller's centering feed past Bradley keeper Drew Van Kampen.  Less than two minutes later, Bears forward Heath Melugin picked off a Van Kampen clearance in the box and converted the easy opportunity for his fourth goal of the year and a 2-0 Missouri State lead before the Braves had yet managed a shot.

Bradley's first shot came in the 18th minute when junior midfielder Rudy Garcia forced Missouri State keeper Alex Riggs to make his first save of the game.

The Bears tacked on their third goal in the 20th minute when Paradise won the foot race to a Johannes Demarzi feed in the box and beat Van Kampen again for his fifth goal of the season.

Missouri State ended the game with a 13-8 advantage in shots, including a 9-4 margin in shots on goal.

The Braves will return the road Wednesday for a Missouri Valley Conference clash at Drake.
