PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior women's golfer Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Coaldale) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after tying for 23rd at the 32nd annual Pat Bradley Invitational in Fort Myers, Fla.
Neufeld opened play with a first-round 76 and carded a one-over par 73 to finish the opening day of action at the par-72 Pelican Preserve and Country Club tied for 23rd in a field of 82 individuals. She fired a third-round 75 to wrap up play in a tie for 23rd at 224. Neufeld helped the Braves to a 13th-place finish at the Pat Bradley Invitational and concluded the Fall schedule with a team-best 74.3 stroke average. An English major, Neufeld owns a 3.32 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Neufeld and the Braves are slated to open their Spring schedule, Feb. 21-22 at the Jacksonville Classic in Jacksonville, Fla.
