PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore MacKenzie Westcott (Williamsburg, Iowa/Williamsburg) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping the Bradley Women's Basketball team to a 1-1 record last week.
Westcott averaged a team-best 9.0 points per game and also averaged 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, one block and one steal per outing as Bradley split a pair of games in Colorado. She had three points, five boards, two assists and one steal in 19 minutes off the bench at Northern Colorado. Westcott matched a career-high with 15 points off the bench in the victory at Air Force Saturday. She pulled down a season-high eight rebounds to go along with two assists, two blocks and one steal against the Falcons. An actuarial science major, Westcott owns a 3.60 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Westcott and the Braves return to action Tuesday, Dec. 29 with a 5:35 p.m. game at Saint Louis. The game against the Billikens will be broadcast in the Peoria area on 96.5 FM ESPN Radio.
