KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- Freshman Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) was one off a season-best score with a second-round 74 to highlight Monday's action for the Bradley women's golf team at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic on the par-72 Cougar Point Golf Course at the Oak Point Golf Club. Amundrud is one shot behind senior Bari Erais (Lethbridge, Alberta/Lethbridge Collegiate Institute) after the second-round 74 and helped the Braves climb up two spots into 38th place after 36 holes.

A day removed from shooting a 344 in their first round of the spring on the Oak Point Course Sunday, the Braves were 15 shots better during Monday's action (319) and moved up two spots into 38th place at 663 to pass Missouri Valley Conference rival Southern Illinois.

Erais is Bradley's leader after two rounds at 160 and is tied for 94th after shooting an 81 in the second round. Amundrud, whose second round 74 is the low round of the tournament for the Braves, is one shot behind Erais in a tie for 109th at 161.

Sophomore Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Coaldale) was the only other Bradley player to shoot in the 70's Monday, carding a 79 and will begin Tuesday's final round tied for 138th at 165. Freshman Erin Gorman (Rockford, Ill./Boylan) fired a season-best 85 to finish the day at 177 and is tied for 202nd, while sophomore Caitlin Deeken (California, Mo./California) was eight shots better on Tuesday and is alone in 205th at 180 after a second-round 86.

The tournament is the largest in NCAA women's golf history and features 21 teams ranked in the top 100 according to Golfweek, and 27 of the top 110. Miami (Fla.), which is ranked 87th, leads the field after two rounds of play at 605. 69th-ranked East Tennessee State is second at 606.

Bradley is 38th overall at 663, two shots behind 37th-place Wofford (661) and just six shots behind Bucknell for 35th. The Braves hold a one shot lead on Old Dominion and are four shots ahead of Valley rival Southern Illinois (40th - 667).

The field will be split into two groups for Tuesday's final round with the top 22 teams advancing to the championship round at the Cougar Point Course. Bradley is one of 21 teams competing for the flight championship Tuesday on the Oak Point Course.

The Braves will begin final round play Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. (CST) on the Oak Point Course. Live stats for the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic are available at www.golfstat.com
