ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Sophomore Caitlin Deeken (California, Mo./California) shot a season-low 75 to help lead the Bradley women's golf team to a 316-337 victory against Eckerd College in a dual Monday at the par-72 6,217-yard St. Petersburg Country Club.
Deeken carded an eagle-2 on the 380-yard par-4 13th hole as she paced the Braves with a three-over par 75. Freshman Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) was two shots behind Deeken at 77, while sophomore Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Coaldale) fired an 81. Senior Bari Erais (Lethbridge, Alberta/Lethbridge Collegiate Institute) rounded out the team scoring for Bradley with an 83.
While Deeken turned in the low round of the day, freshman Erin Gorman (Rockford, Ill./Boylan) had the highlight of the day with a hole-in-one on the 123-yard 17th hole. Gorman, who was playing as an individual, shot a season-best 82. Fellow freshman Keegan Ryan (Groveland, Ill./Morton) shot a 92 and senior Lauren Downing (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah), who also played as an individual, turned in a score of 96.
Bradley returns to action Thursday when the Braves face Western Illinois in a dual in Naples, Fla.
