PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior women's tennis players Erin Krubeck (Boulder, Colo./Fairview) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday, after helping the Bradley women's tennis team to a 4-3 victory against Western Illinois.
Krubeck picked up one of three singles victories for the Braves against the Westerwinds, topping Kate Kennedy of Western Illinois, 6-2, 6-2 at #5 singles. She also teamed with Kim Braun (Racine, Wis./The Prairie School) at #3 doubles to defeat the duo of Yana Meinert and Courtney Brooks, 8-2 to help Bradley win the doubles point. A marketing major, Krubeck owns a 3.60 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Krubeck and the Braves return to action Friday at Northern Illinois in a 12:30 p.m. match in DeKalb, Ill.
