PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior Bari Erais (Lethbridge, Alberta/Lethbridge Collegiate Institute) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday, after helping the Bradley women's golf team to a third-place finish at the Saluki Invitational.
One of three Braves to finish in the top 11, Erais tied for ninth place in the field with a two-round total of 159 and helped the Braves to a third-place finish in the 12-team event. She fired a six-over par 78 in the opening round and finished out play with a final-round 81 to post her team-leading fifth top-10 finish of the year. An accounting major, Erais owns a 3.88 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Erais and the Braves return to action this weekend when they host the 2009 Hotels at Grand Prairie Collegiate Classic at WeaverRidge Golf Club. The two-day, 54-hole event will feature 36 holes on Sunday and one round of play Monday.
