TERRE HAUTE, Ind. ? Bradley junior (Canton, Ill./Canton H.S.) recorded a fifth place finish in the javelin throw to lead the Bradley track & field team at the first day of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. Friday.

Sepich finished fifth in the event, recording a throw of 131 feet, nine inches to narrowly miss her career-best throw.  Illinois State's Leigh Petranoff won the event with a throw of 150 feet, 11 inches.

"The results really showed the work Erika has put in," head coach David Beauchem said.  "I'm pleased she was rewarded with a strong showing at the conference meet."

The three-day event continues Saturday in Terre Haute with field events starting at 9 a.m.
