PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior Erika Sepich (Canton, Ill./Canton) was named to the Missouri Valley Conference Track and Field Scholar-Athlete team announced by the league office.
A health science major with a 3.79 cumulative grade point average, Sepich placed fifth in the javelin at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Track and Field Outdoor Championship with a throw of 131 feet, nine inches. She was also part of the Braves' 4 x 100 relay team at the MVC Outdoor Championship which turned in a season-best time of 51.08 seconds to place eighth.
Scholar-Athlete honors require performance standards to be met, as well as academic standards. Student-athletes with a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a sophomore in athletic and academic standing who finish among the top-eight at either the MVC Indoor or Outdoor Track & Field Championships are included on the Scholar-Athlete team.
Bradley has had at least one person named to the MVC Track and Field Scholar-Athlete team in back-to-back seasons for the first time since having 12 MVC Scholar-Athletes from 1999-2000 through the 2004-05 season.
