PEORIA, Ill. -- Mike Brooks has been named the Director of Women's Basketball Operations, announced by 10th-year Bradley Women's Basketball head coach Paula Buscher Tuesday. Brooks was an assistant women's basketball coach at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo., last year.

No stranger to the area or the Bradley Women's Basketball program, Brooks' wife Andi was an assistant coach under Buscher during the 2004-05 season and served as an administrative assistant during the 2003-04 school year. Brooks will oversee team travel and serve as the team's video coordinator in addition to assisting with camps and other administrative duties.

"I've known Mike for years and am excited to once again have the opportunity to work with him," Buscher said. "He has a great deal of experience breaking down film from both his basketball and football coaching. His personality and passion for the game make him a great addition to our staff."

As an assistant coach at Central Methodist, Brooks coached the varsity post players, while also serving as the head coach of the junior varsity squad. He served as an assistant coach for the boy's and girl's basketball teams at Glasgow High School in Glasgow, Mo., during the 2007-08 school year, while also serving as boy's and girl's track coach at Glasgow from 2006-08.

During his first full season as the track coach at Glasgow High School, Brooks began his basketball coaching career with the first of two one-year stints as assistant women's basketball coach at Central Methodist University during the 2006-07 season.

A four-time letterwinner in football in college, Brooks first arrived at Central Methodist University as a football coach. He was running backs coach and assistant special teams coach, while also serving as the strength and conditioning coordinator for the Eagles during the 2006 season.

Brooks began his college coaching career at Quincy University, where he was an assistant football coach for the 2005 campaign.

A 2004 graduate of Western State College in Gunnison, Colo., Brooks earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Theatre. He was a two-year member of both the football and track teams at Western State after transferring from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where his wife Andi played for Buscher on the women's basketball team. Brooks earned his master's degree in Education this spring.
