MUNCIE, Ind. - Junior Nicole Miller (Glendale Heights, Ill./Glenbard West H.S.) went 2-0 in singles action en route to earning the Flight A singles championship at the 2009 Ball State Fall Invitational Saturday. Miller cruised in her semifinal match against Wright State's Kenisha Webb 6-0, 6-2 and beat Dayton's Julie Kirkland 6-1, 7-5 for the Flight A crown.
In her Flight B singles semifinal, senior Kelly Donohue (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) retired in the second set, giving Butler's Brittany Farmer the 6-4, 1-0 win. Farmer went on to win the Flight B title.
Senior Jessica Buterbaugh (Paradise Valley, Ariz./Chaparral H.S.) won her Flight C singles semifinal against Kelly O'Connel from Dayton 6-3, 6-0, but fell in the championship match 6-3, 6-1 to Northern Illinois' Brittini Fausett.
Freshman Brigitte Graf (Double Oak, Texas/Faustina Academy) dropped her consolation semifinal to Butler's Kate Panawash 6-1, 6-0. Bradley also went 0-5 in doubles matches Saturday.
The Braves will return to the courts Oct. 2-4 at the Queen City Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio.
